EKG Program

By administering EKGs — testing the electronic activity of the heart through small electrode patches attached to the body — you'll be making a life-changing difference, helping people of all ages prevent and treat heart disease.

EKG Technicians perform ECG tests that record and monitor electrical impulses transmitted by the heart.  An EKG Technician administers diagnostic cardiac tests to patients pre-surgery or who may have cardiac problems.  The tests help detect and monitor medical conditions such as heart disease, arrhythmias, pericarditis, and angina.

As an EKG tech, you may perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests

  • Prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring

  • Edit and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis

  • Schedule appointments

  • Transcribe physicians' interpretations

Students learn:

  • Anatomy of the heart

  • Physiology

  • Medical disease processes

  • Medical terminology

  • Medical ethics

  • Laboratory assisting

  • Electrocardiography

  • Echocardiography

We are proud to offer the EKG Certification Online Course. The course is approximately 30 hours in length, and can be completed in either two days or two weeks, depending on your schedule! The course is designed to give you flexibility and limit time constraints to work with any busy schedule. Upon completion, students will be skilled in all techniques necessary to perform a successful EKG procedure. If you have any questions, please email info@lifelinehealthtraining.com.
